LCAP Steering Committee--Recruiting New Members!

Hello San Lorenzo Unified School District Families, and welcome to the 2019-20 school year! We would like to invite families and community members to apply to be part of our LCAP Steering Committee this year. The LCAP is the Local Control Accountability Plan, which is a guiding document that outlines our goals, actions and services for our students across the district. If you are interested in being part of our team, and to represent your school, please complete the document attached to this announcement and return it to your child’s school or to our District Office at 15510 Usher Street. African American Family Advisory Council

Come join us for our first African American Family Advisory Council (AAFAC) meeting of the year on Thursday, September 26th! We welcome back guest speaker Tovi Scruggs-Hussein, author of "Be a Parent Champion." Our meeting is at Edendale Middle School from 6-7:30pm, with dinner being served from 5:30-6:00pm. The Cloud-based computer giveaway has ended for this summer. We plan to repeat Project PC 2 CB next summer after we collect more desktops and laptops from all over the San Lorenzo Unified School District as we complete the migration to Windows 10. Get to Know Our District! Adult School and ROP Programs

Come join us as we share information around the San Lorenzo Adult School and the Regional Occupation Program---find out what classes are offered to adults in our community and how to get involved, and what types of programs our students have access to at the Regional Occupation Program (ROP). Our meeting will begin at 5:30 with dinner for participants, and then program presentations will begin at 6pm sharp. Black History Month Celebration!

Join us on February 12th at 5:30pm at Arroyo High School for our Black History Month Celebration, sponsored by the African American Family Advisory Council. Student performances, a student speaker panel, a keynote address and a delicious soul food dinner will be on hand for this community event. All are welcomed!
