Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Welcome to Hillside Elementary School. I am Moraima Machado and I am thrilled to serve you as the principal. I am a Spanish bilingual educator  who have dedicated 22 years of her career to serve families and Students of Color.  At Hillside we keep equity at the center of our work. We are dedicated to providing our students with the knowledge , skills, and character development essential to succeed in school and beyond. We work tirelessly to make sure all students have what they need to reach their full potential. We firmly believe that students achieve more when the larger community is involved in their education. 

We are very excited to share that this school year 2021-2022, our school was awarded with a grant to become a community school. We aim to become a hub in our neighborhood, uniting families, educators, and community partners to provide all students with high quality education, enrichment, health, and social learning opportunities which would enable our students to succeed in school and in life.
